Kaitlin Carroll

Kaitlin is a born and raised Miramichier who returned home unexpectedly and was pleasantly surprised by all the exciting things that Miramichi had to offer a young professional. Kaitlin attended Dalhousie University where she studied Psychology and Biology and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Social Work. Kaitlin's Career took her to Alberta where she spent time working in housing, and addiction & metal health in both Calgary and Fort McMurray.
Kaitlin's trajectory took a sudden shift after the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire, and she decided to take the opportunity to travel, see the world, and explore other areas of interest. Kaitlin travelled to India to train as a yoga teacher, and spent time in Nicaragua teaching yoga, learning Spanish, and learning to surf. After a bit more exploring, Kaitlin found herself heading back to the East Coast to dive back into her social work career; first in Moncton with the Child & Youth teams, then back to Miramichi to pursue a leadership position with Addition & Mental Health.
Since moving to Miramichi in 2018, Kaitlin has taken on many new challenges and has dove into life in Miramichi with full force. Kaitlin is now working as the Acting Program Manager for the Child & Youth Teams with Horizon, bought and renovated her first home, ventured into starting a business found a passion for community development projects, met her wonderful and supportive partner, and has recently been accepted into the UWaterloo Master of Social Program.

Kaitlin is a lifelong learner, an advocate for social justice, passionate about health promotion and prevention, and building healthy and resilient communities.
